2- Trends
  • Consumers are more aware of nutrition and innovations on the juices market.
Before the pandemic, juice drinks were associated with breakfast beverages but with the Covid-19, consumers searched for immune-supporting beverages and so, brands have started to claim health benefits in their formulas with “superfood” “immune-booster” “vitamins” etc.
Overall, there is a trend towards less-sugared drinks and a declining percentage of children in the population of many developed markets.
For instance the development of juices diets has been a key driver for the market in past years.
  • Juice mixtures and smoothies are a driver for the market
Extremely popular in consumers’ diets, smoothies and juices mixtures are the leaders of the juices market. Consumed for their high nutritious incomes, fullness etc. they are perceived as an easy way to increase the everyday’s vegetables & fruits incomes + many people add in their drinks supplements as proteins, collagens, vitamins etc.
On the contrary, processed juices that are highly sweetened are threatened by other beverages like dairy/non-dairy drinks and bottled waters. This is due to the fact that many households cut out of their diet industrial juices for breakfast and snacks (especially for kids) and now prefer drinking more natural beverages that are still tasty.
